This is a full time job

Responsibilities: “What do you say you’re doing here?”
• Demonstrates strong conceptual ideas and visual creativity to create original characters.
• Explores and generates a large amount of diverse ideas for movie characters. Exploration will include shape difference, degree of caricature, style, age, body type, etc.
• Builds deeper character development pages, including facial expressions, body gestures, poses, and attitudes that reflect the character’s inner workings.
• Costume design and may provide colorful character design.
• Works closely with model designers. Understands how 2D drawings inform 3D shapes, and is able to describe the transition from flat shapes to volumes verbally and through supporting drawings.
• Communicate work progress to production staff. Ensure all deadlines are met.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications

• Ability to think and design from concept to completion independently.
• Strong understanding of design principles.
• Ability to adapt to a wide range of styles from realistic to stylized.
• Strong understanding of 3D modeling.
• Strong time management skills.

Required qualifications
“What can I offer?”
• Proficient in Photoshop and knowledge of Maya and/or ZBrush a plus.

Fully Remote: This position is designated as fully remote, meaning the position will be expected to contribute from a non-DreamWorks work location, which is predominantly the employee’s residence.

Salary Range: $86,300 – $125,000
