Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of the group’s legal strategy and contribute to the development of the organization’s overall business strategy.
• Provide proactive, in-depth and business-focused advice and implementation.
• Manage and assist in the legal response to corporate and wider matters faced by the company and internal stakeholders and provide sound and robust legal advice and support; Leading external communications on legal matters including negotiation with external parties.
• Assisting with transactional activities including mergers and acquisitions, majority and minority investments, joint ventures as well as restructurings globally.
• Lead, advise and support a wide range of transaction, reorganization and governance initiatives.
• Be responsible for drafting and reviewing legal documents and providing a comprehensive risk assessment and proposals to enhance business value while mitigating downside risks across multiple areas of the company.
• Partner with cross-functional and regional teams and provide support on legal matters of varying complexity, sensitivity and concreteness.
• Provide training and advice to non-legal colleagues to enhance awareness and risk management across the firm.
• Expect and maintain up-to-date knowledge of current laws.
• Identify developments in the legal framework and align and enhance consistency of approach to legal matters among internal stakeholders.
• Take prudent risks in the overall business context, advising and implementing solutions to address identified problems.

requirements

• A qualified solicitor in the United Kingdom, the United States or other common law jurisdictions.
• 8+ years post-qualification experience working in a reputable law firm or in-house at an established company or investment fund.
• Strong team player with good business sense.
• Ideally trained at a reputable law firm within corporate practice with a focus on corporate transactional work and general corporate governance.
• Reorganization experience is essential.
• Possesses strong legal technical expertise as well as exceptional business acumen and people skills.
• Hands-on and you can be independent in managing complex projects while still working as part of a team.
• Ability to come up with and implement creative solutions to meet current and evolving business needs.
• Excellent legal drafting and interpretation skills.
• Excellent problem solving, analytical and organizational skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, technical environment.
