There is an exciting opportunity for postdoctoral researchers within the School of Chemical, Materials and Biological Engineering at the University of Sheffield.

The University of Sheffield is a partner in the ReMake Value Retention Center (RVRC) – a £10 million research center led by the National Manufacturing Institute of Scotland (NMIS) with support from UKRI. RVRC is a pioneer in a differentiated and innovative system-level approach, dedicated to the pressing challenge of maximizing the life of highly integrated sector products. By encompassing technology, business model, supply chain, culture, risk, standards and commercial considerations, RVRC delivers tighter loops in highly integrated engineering sectors.

The two positions will develop digital tools and inspection processes to create microscopic fingerprints in order to predict the service life and critical mechanical properties of new components produced from critical recycled metals.
