The purpose of the role is to deliver highly effective modules in the International Foundation Year (Pre-University, Level 3) at the centre

About the role

• Deliver modules (both online and face-to-face) to international students studying on programs offered by the Center and assist in the development of modules.
• Develop units from unit specifications. This will include plans for learning along with appropriate development of learning resources.
• Preparing unit tests and other forms of formative and summative assessment, grading and providing feedback to students.
• Assist in developing and maintaining the center’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Facilitating student access to it.
• Providing inputs to relevant units in the annual review and reporting process.
• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date record of student attendance and performance.
• Providing academic educational support, when needed, to a small number of students, when needed.
• Participate in regular meetings with teaching and support staff.
• Support various student engagement activities around the ISC.
• Attend lectures offered by Durham University to support student progress.
• Arranging and supporting visits to places of interest related to the topic.

About you

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject (essential)
• Recognized educational qualification (desirable)
• Master’s degree or equivalent in relevant subject area (desirable)
• Proficiency in spoken and written English
• Teaching experience delivering business programs within a sixth form, further education or higher education context.
• Experience working with international students (desirable)
• Student-centered approach.
• Confident practitioner both online (eg using Teams/Zoom) and face to face
• Ability to master a wide range of online teaching software.
• Strong record keeping skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Flexibility.
• Ability to work under pressure to deadlines.
• Strong sense of teamwork.
