Chef De Partie/Cook

Your turn:
The overall purpose of the Chef de Partie (Cook) is to assist the Executive Chef and the rest of the GR Bistro team in preparing ingredients, planning the menu, robust execution of meals for employees and customers, and following proper food safety and sanitation practices to execute daily lunch service for employees.
Your responsibilities:
- List implementation:
- Assist in planning, preparing, implementing and serving the daily breakfast and lunch menu for approximately 400 employees
- Follow preparation lists and daily maintenance checklists
- Assistance with catering and events
- Provide the appropriate presentation and service of the final product to employees and customers
- Plan and prepare business lunches for guests and other special office gatherings

- Some after-hours catering required
- Sanitation:
- Follow food safety plans
- Demonstrate proper food safety and sanitation techniques
- Ensure proper cooling, storage and hot preservation of food items
- Ensuring general cleanliness and maintenance of the hall and equipment
- Help with washing dishes if necessary
- barren:
- Putting away orders according to a food safety plan and “first in, first out”
- Maintaining, organizing and cleaning coolers and freezers
About you:
- Two-year culinary arts degree or equivalent work experience
- 2 years as a sous chef with demonstrated ability to lead a team
Working conditions:
Working with hot liquids and sharp objects is potentially dangerous. Space must be shared with public employees in a safe and responsible manner. Fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Deadlines must be met daily. Possibility of working varying hours.
Physical requirements:
This is a physically demanding job: it requires you to lift heavy objects, be on your feet for long periods of time, and walk up and down stairs to reach storage units and coolers.
compensation:
Global Relay advertises the pay range for this role in accordance with BC pay transparency laws. Individual pay rates are determined by evaluating factors such as experience, skills, education and professional background.
The range below reflects expected annual base salary, which is just one element of our comprehensive total rewards package designed to reflect the pay philosophy, culture and values of our company. British Columbia – Base Salary Range
$45,000 – $55,000 CAD
