The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, Massachusetts is seeking candidates for faculty positions beginning July 1, 2026, or at a mutually agreed upon date thereafter. We welcome outstanding applicants with research and teaching interests in any area of ​​electrical engineering, computer science, artificial intelligence, and decision-making. EECS believes that the broad range of intellectual, cultural, and social interests and perspectives of our faculty, staff, and students is vitally important to the excellence and excellence of our academic and research programs. The department offers supportive mentorship to junior faculty and a strong commitment to an inclusive and welcoming culture.
The appointment will be at the non-tenure-track assistant or associate professor level. In special cases, it may be possible to appoint a senior member of staff, commensurate with experience. Faculty duties include undergraduate and graduate teaching, research, and supervision of student research. Candidates must have a doctoral degree. in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field before starting work. Salary range for a 9-month academic appointment at the entry-level Assistant Professor level (excluding summer salary): $140,000 – $150,000. The pay offered to the selected candidate during employment will depend on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience and education/training, internal peer equity, and applicable legal requirements. This pay range represents base salary only and does not include any other benefits or compensation. Employment is contingent upon completion of a satisfactory background check, including the possibility of verification of any finding of misconduct (or pending investigation) from previous employers.
