The Faculty of Communication and Culture at the University of Arheus invites the requests for the position of assistant professor in cybersecurity, based in the Department of Digital Design and Information Studies at the Faculty of Arts.

The assistant professor is a full -time position for three years. Taking into account the availability of financing, there will be an opportunity to apply for a subsequent associate professor. The department aims to enhance its research and teaching in the field of cybersecurity, and this position represents an important step towards this goal. The date will start on January 1, 2026 or as soon as possible.

The risks and points of weakness in digital and infrastructure systems, as well as integrity, confidentiality and information availability, are not just technical problems. It is deeply included in human behavior, work practices, organizational culture and national policy (Inter). These risks and weaknesses make it necessary to consider the human factor when dealing with cybersecurity and information security. These considerations apply to designing information technology products and services, integrating precautionary measures in work practices and workflow, and managing organizational change in response to security threats, strategic development and organizational requirements. Therefore, we are looking for a presenter for a strong background in cybersecurity. Applicants must show a search file on one or more of the following areas:

• Human factors in cybersecurity, Focusing on people’s personal practices, understanding and cybersecurity experiences through various contexts, as well as designing research on perceived use and ease of access to security solutions or interventions.
• Cyber ​​security in organizations, Focusing on cultures and organizational structures, employee competencies, behavior, training, leadership, mitigation and management of risks, and the operation and effectiveness of compliance tools.
• Cyber ​​security governanceFocusing on geopolitical developments such as electronic tools, electronic control and control tools; Legislation and standards; Tensions between social values ​​in the approach of governance; And (Inter) national strategies and their imagination.

The Digital Design and Information Studies Department has a strong international definition file and a solid research network. The successful applicant will join multidisciplinary faculty members with prosperous research in interaction design, participatory design, creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, critical data studies, science studies, technology and community studies (STS), and digital beauty.

Teaching and supervision

The successful applicant will contribute to the education and supervision education through undergraduate and master’s programs, with a special focus on the information studies program.

Since it is expected that the successful applicant will play a major role in developing cybersecurity as a strategic research field in the department’s curriculum, applicants must determine their application in how to integrate cybersecurity into the current sessions or present them as new independent courses in each of Bachelor’s‘sand MasteryLevels. The successful applicant is also expected to expand and unify one or more of these areas within the department through teaching and research at the highest international level.
