The theater department at Wovord College invites A requests a Assistant design professorbeginning August 2026.

We are looking for a dynamic artist of artists who are excited to interact with university students in an environment for liberal arts and contribute to the cooperative theater program and think forward.

The department is located at the Rosalind S. Richardson Arts Center, and is a building on the latest model (opened 2017), which is home to both theater and visual arts, including a 325 -seat Prosingium Theater, a 100 -seat black box theater, classrooms, and offices, as well as a wide gallery, museum and medical spaces.

Teaching and production responsibilities

Successful candidate:

• As an administration Resident lighting designer
• science At least two sessions for each semester Concerning design and production, with flexibility in teaching in the areas of relevant experience or attention. The teaching load is 3: 1: 3, including two sessions in the semester and one course in anti -production design responsibilities, as well as a flexible temporary course during January.
• Design lighting for all departments production (usually 3-4 annually), including:

Qualifications

• MFA in theater design (With a concentration in lighting design) required by August 2026 (or MFA in lighting designTheatrical design, theater technology, or another similar degree at the end of August 2026)
• Show excellence or possibilities in university teaching (highly preferred)
• Vocational or academic lighting design experience
• Commitment to comprehensive teaching and support for a various student body
• Strong cooperative, communication, organizational and personal skills (and humor)
• An experiment is required with ETC. Knowing Vectorworks (favorite) or autocad, QLAB and Lightwright required. Knowing Sketchup, Revit, SolidWorks, Warcrafts or Similar Similar Programs.
