The College of Social Sciences invites new publications requests in the ranking professor/ assistant professor. The appointed will take duties as an inaugural director of the new BSSC University program in diplomacy and international studies. This innovative program aims to sponsor high -level talent that multiple disciplines that master both Chinese and Western cultures and are ready to excel in international relations, international organizations and diplomatic arenas. Especially focusing on China’s role in global rule, the program enhances students developing a profound understanding of the historical, cultural and political dimensions of China’s participation in international affairs. The college seeks a visionary leader with commitment to teaching, managing programs to study, and developing this new distinguished initiative.

The appointed will be responsible for

1. Directing the continuous development and improvement of the new university program;
2. Enhancing multidisciplinary cooperation to ensure meeting research and teaching developments at the highest international standards;
3. Providing strategic leadership and guidance in compatibility with CUHK academic missions and participating colleges; and
4. Enhancing global ties in the field of international and diplomatic studies.

The applicants are expected to be:

1. Doctorate degree in international relations/international law or related disciplines;
2. A distinguished record of academic achievements, international recognition in research, scholarships and teaching;
3. A busy record of academic administrative experience in leadership positions, preferably in prominent institutions in the field of research;
4. The ability to enhance multidisciplinary cooperation showed; and
5. A strong international network and experience in developing the study program.

Usually appointment is based on a contract for up to three years in the beginning, which aims to start in January 2026 or as soon as possible after that, which may lead to performance, availability of financing, and mutual agreement, may lead to long -term appointment or proof (period) at a later time.

Requests from October 2025 will start continuously. Requests will be considered until the post is filled.
