The Earth, Environment and Playing Sciences Department (EEPS), Tennessee University, Noxfelle (UTK) calls for full -time sharing requests in the geological geology of climate change. The appointment will be at an assistant level or associate professor and will start on August 1, 2026, as part of the College of the Conservative of Arts and Sciences in the societal flexibility of climate change. The successful candidate is expected to develop an external funding and educational research program in the widespread field of flexibility of climate change from the land systems approach.
It is expected that the successful candidate will lead to the leadership of research that examines the causes and change of climate, preferably through a set of agent data from geological and environmental archives and modeling forms. EEPS has complementary and expanding experience in geology and environmental science with a set of new analytical facilities in force using both isotopes and trace elements. The successful candidate research may be transcended, but not limited to water resources, rugs (ice rivers, polar ice boards, regeneration, marine ice), rebuilding old climate, biochemistry, sedimentation, soil formation, ocean sciences, and coastal operations. This faculty member will develop a research program that completes both faculty members in EEPS and the broader societal flexibility of climate change technology, as well as enhancing cooperation with researchers in the Oak Ridge National Laboratory or in social sciences at the intersection of climate change and human health. The chosen candidate will teach training courses on climate change at all levels, university students and graduate studies, and the performance of departments and university service suitable for the rank.
This position is located in the Ministry of Earth, Environmental Sciences and Planets, and it is part of a new constellation of multidisciplinary faculty members at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences UT Societal flexibility of climate change (SRCC): https://artsci.utk.edu/about/faculty-initiatives. We are looking for faculty members in the working line who will have overlapping interests that enhance the development and cooperation of faculty members. The aim is to combine faculty and investment members in the departments whose research is related and granted through this initiative and attracting faculty members who can bring different views of an important issue or field.
Noxfil, which is located in the slopes of the Ridge and Blue Ridge Mountains, is a distinct laboratory and entertainment destination. In addition to the mountains, East Tennsee has a vulnerable in internal waterways, national parks and national parks. Noxfil is a prosperous city full of internal and external entertainment places, restaurants, shops and cultural offers. The city contains a mixture of comfortable urban and rural living places.
Qualifications: required: Applicants must obtain a doctorate (or equivalent) degree in geology or related discipline by the time of appointment. Achievement will be evaluated through publications in magazines and presentations reviewed by the peer, and competitive support (for example, grants, fellowships, contracts). The candidates for the assistant professor must show the potential for success in these areas, while the candidates for the assistant professor must have a fixed record of the publication that was reviewed by the counterparts and competitive financing. Excellence in teaching will be shown through a record of teaching and formal or previous unofficial communication.
