Veterinary Purchasing Company Limited (VP) Maries, Ontario, is the largest supplier of veterinary products in Ontario and is currently looking to add a dynamic individual to join our IT team for a permanent, full-time position:

Software Quality Assurance Developer (Automation).

Reporting to the Software Development Team Leader, the successful candidate will be responsible for working with the Software Development team to develop appropriate testing for our microservices web applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop reliable and scalable automated tests to test a microservices web application
• Design, develop and maintain test scripts using Java or Clojure with Selenium
• Participate in code reviews to ensure coding standards are met
• Develop and maintain test automation framework
• Collaborate with project team members to ensure appropriate test coverage
• Support and maintain all tools used for automation
• Execute and monitor automation tests and report any defects found
• Estimate, prioritize and coordinate automated testing activities for projects or support
• Provide training and guidance to other team members
• Complete impact analysis on existing code base when changes are required

What you’ll need to succeed:

• Associate or university degree, computer science or related field, or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years of experience in test automation including creating test scenarios and scripts
• Previous experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks
• Proven experience using web testing framework such as Selenium
• Experience with JVM based languages ​​such as Java or Clojure
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience in creating and maintaining a test automation framework
• Proven experience in different types of testing such as Functional, Integration, Regression, Smoke Testing and User Acceptance Testing
• Strong understanding of SDLC, Waterfall and/or Agile methodologies
• Must have initiative, be results-oriented with the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Experience in writing and executing SQL scripts
• Previous experience contributing to test deliverables such as test plans and test cases
