Amblin, located in Universal City, CA, has an immediate opening for an Assistant Director of Operations. This is a great position for someone interested in learning the business side of entertainment. This is not a creative role, and it will not lead to a creative role in the future. Please do not apply if you have an interest in a career path in an entertainment creative role or have held a creative role in the past. We are looking for an Assistant who wants to continue their career as a long-term Assistant.

• Has strong proficiency in Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Working knowledge of SAP Concur, Zkipster and Canva is a plus
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Works closely and effectively with the Operations Manager to keep him well informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities, and follow up on them appropriately
• Assist in managing Operations Manager communications, including coordinating calendars, emails, phone calls, and in-person meetings as needed, and maintaining confidentiality as appropriate
• Serves as gatekeeper to the Operations Manager
• Acts as a gauge that has a sense of the environment, any issues occurring, and keeps the operations manager updated
• Research, prioritize and follow up on issues and concerns, as determined by the Operations Manager, and assist in determining the appropriate course of action, referral or response
• Maintains a high-level understanding of the interdepartmental process to help facilitate appropriate communication
• Maintains basic knowledge of the day-to-day operations of departments under the Director of Operations, to assist in resourcing as needed
• Maintains effective relationships and communications with departments outside the COO’s office
• Coordinating departmental events and providing logistical support
• Manages expense reporting and coordinates travel
• Facilitating assigned special projects
• Provides project management support for complex planning and execution of initiatives related to the Operations Manager
• Prioritize conflicting needs. Deal with things quickly and proactively
• Demonstrates independent follow-up of projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressures
• Performs other tasks that may be necessary to facilitate the work of the Operations Manager
• Provide back-up support/coverage to the CEO office as needed
Salary/Benefits
$40.00 – $46.00 per hour
We offer a full range of benefits and perks. Some overtime hours are expected.
