Project Manager at the University of Glasgow
The university is looking for a project manager to manage the overall operation of “GCR Neuronics advanced manufacturing capability of sensor technology“An ambitious and significant project for a dynamic, advanced industrial cluster in the Glasgow area, specializing in technologies such as semiconductors and quantum technology.
In this role, the successful candidate will engage with partners, suppliers and potential users to facilitate dialogue with industry on technology challenges and translation opportunities. Your responsibility will be to identify and secure new business opportunities and build strong relationships with stakeholders. You will often represent the project at trade shows, academic conferences and government/parliamentary events. This position provides broad industry networking opportunities, and the opportunity to support multidisciplinary research and commercialization activities.
Internally, you will support project management, equipment procurement, and initiate changes necessary to ensure the successful implementation of this strategic project. You will also work with staff at the James Watt Nanofabrication Center (JWNC) and industry partners Neuronics and Kelvin Nanotechnology to ensure project milestones are achieved and promote commercialization opportunities and commercial partnerships in the sector. Having a strong interest and/or background in the nanofabrication business sector would be extremely beneficial.
The post holder will be directly responsible for managing the operation of the project and maintaining a reliable and well-presented record of its activities, achievements and progress, providing regular and accurate reporting to funders and stakeholders.
The post holder will report to the Principal Investigator, Professor Hadi Haidari, and will ensure that the project stays on track and that the objectives, milestones and deliverables, as well as any changes to the research, are documented.
