Applications are invited for two Postdoctoral Research Assistantships in Active Matter and Theoretical Biophysics. Posts are linked to ERC Advanced Grant ActBio. Postdoctoral researchers will extend and apply the ideas of active matter physics to biological contexts, developing theories and computational models at the cell and continuum scales. The work will focus on identifying the physical principles that govern movement, self-organization, and the development of living systems. The post holder will have the opportunity to teach.

Applicants must have (or be about to complete) a PhD in theoretical physics or a related field. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the capacity for independent research work and the ability to collaborate across disciplines.

The position is full-time and has a fixed duration of two years, with the possibility of extension subject to financing.
