Lecturer in Counseling Skills at the University of East Anglia

Salary starts at £48,822 per annum, depending on skills and experience, with annual increases up to £56,535 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer to join Norwich Medical School to be involved in the leadership, coordination, management and significant delivery of the teaching of clinical communication skills to undergraduate medicine. In particular, you will play a key role within our Counseling Skills team, shaping and delivering the new Graduate in Medicine (GEM) Counseling Skills curriculum. The role will also include carrying out duties relating to teaching and formal administrative work within the school, including assessments. You will undertake research within the framework of the School’s research strategy and plan and would suit someone with a background in the social sciences, psychology or health professions.

It is expected that your role will build on or develop a research profile in areas related to healthcare communication and/or behavioral sciences in medical education.

You must have a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area or equivalent (or within 6 months of completion), with experience in university teaching and student assessment. The role will also supervise research projects of undergraduate and postgraduate students, including doctoral students, and as a student advisor.

This full-time position is available on an unlimited basis.
