The Department of Arts at Old Dominion University invites requests for an annual position for 10 months in the rank of Assistant Professor to start July 25, 2026. This is the date of the Palfation Path with the Teaching burden 2/3. We are especially looking for an assistant professor specializing in Teaching contemporary art for K-12 public school cars This position is the possession path. In addition to teaching courses and methods, this will participate in an assistant professor in the research and works with the College of Education and the public school areas to provide advice to students, management, facilitation, and supervision of practical practices and student teaching experiences, among other service activities. We welcome the candidates whose experience and creative practice,/or research and/or teaching in societies that were represented historically or marginalized practices in a way that enhances learning experiences for diverse students’ residents.
Duties and responsibilities: This is full -time, 2/3 teaching load with the training course discounts for training students training Supervision. The basic responsibilities will include:
Teach regularly scheduled classes that can include the foundations in technical education, primary and/or high schools, curricula and education.
Coordination, supervision and management of student teaching notes, operations, and training student teaching.
It is a communication between the Department of Arts at Old Dominion University and the Darden College of Education and local educational regions.
Implementing serial goals in planning lessons and writing and practicing studio throughout the basic technical education curriculum sequence
The successful candidate will work with the head of the Arts Department and the Director of the Technical Education Program to align the goals of the curricula, and supervise the supervision of teachers in accordance with the governmental and national accreditation standards.
Providing advice to students, maintaining a strong research program and performing the responsibilities of the department service.
