Assistant/Associate/Full Professor, Cybersecurity, Prince Mohammed bin Fahd University

Job title

Highly qualified candidates are required for the Department of Cybersecurity in the College of Computer Science and Engineering at Prince Mohammed bin Fahd University. The quality of the educational training and academic careers of Western University faculty is vital to PMU.

Qualifications and experience (required)

  • Ph.D. Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity or computer-related field with a major focus on Cybersecurity from an accredited and reputable Western university. A Master’s degree with good teaching experience in the field of cybersecurity may be considered especially in teaching freshmen, sophomores and laboratory modules.
  • Candidates must have at least 2-3 years of post-degree teaching experience with good research experience related to cybersecurity, including publications in international journals and conferences.
  • Industrial experience is a plus.
  • Candidates are expected to have excellent command of the English language.
  • Candidates must be familiar with technology-rich academic environments.
  • Previous experience in The Middle East or Gulf Cooperation Council countries Plus countries.

Duties and responsibilities

general

teaching

  • Contribute at an appropriate level to school and faculty teaching policies and practices.
  • To play an important role in the design, development and planning of courses and programs within the subject area as required.
  • To play an important role in reviewing courses and programs and in evaluation, quality assurance and quality promotion as required.
  • To develop innovative approaches to learning and teaching as appropriate.
  • Provide timely feedback and assessment of coursework and examinations.
  • To provide general support and guidance to students, solve problems and/or refer to specialist parties, where required.

research

  • To be able to conduct research in areas related to cybersecurity.
  • To be able to engage students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in research.
  • To play an important role in the state-of-the-art cybersecurity research laboratory at Prince Mohammed bin Fahd University.

Scientific and professional development and service

  • To maintain appropriate scientific or professional development activity and keep abreast of developments in the field as necessary to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Participation in comprehensive guidance for major students in the college.
  • To contribute to the overall work of the College and/or similar external organizations by representing the institution and faculty on appropriate committees and groups.
  • To contribute effectively to the school’s, faculty’s, and college’s administrative and administrative processes and committee structures, as required.
  • To participate in, manage or lead key initiatives or areas of work (whether as sustained or one-off projects) that facilitate school, faculty or college performance and accreditation, as required.
  • To participate in the recruitment, management, development and mentoring of colleagues, as required.
