University job: Assistant Professor – Heat Heat Blaming
The UT Space Institute (UTSI) and the Department of Science and Engineering (MSE) at Tickle College of Engineering (TCE) at Tennessee University, Noxfille (UTK), is invited to submit requests to obtain a very high -temperature alloys assistant professor (UHTAS).

The MSE section of UTK is a vibrant and fast -growing academic unit and has internationally recognized power points in the field of ceramics, minerals, alloys, polymers, compound materials and electronic materials. Our faculty members have global experience in computer modeling, artificial intelligence/machine learning of material information, advanced and automatic manufacturing, and the investigations of the site and outside of nanoparticles and microscopic structures, and the physical and mechanical test of materials. Research interest areas
We are looking for very high -temperature -temperature -temperature alloys candidates for high -speed air systems and space applications. A successful candidate is expected to enhance the basic understanding of how to control, processing alloys design, and its connection to microscopic structure, chemistry and UHTAS performance in harsh environments, with potential applications in air space and defense. The fields of special importance include, but not limited to, the following:
Skin design and UHTAS (for example, heat -resistant alloys, and crawling and oxidant systems).
Processing science, including advanced manufacturing, powders mining, and directional sclerosis for UHTAS.
Thermal and environmental decomposition mechanisms (crawl, custody, oxidation, corrosion).
On the site and work methods to describe UHTAS at high temperatures and under harsh conditions.
A successful candidate is expected to create a strong and external research program in alloys with very high temperatures, cooperation with UTSI faculty and MSE members and with partners in the NASA Marshall Space Tour Space, contributing to the broader materials and space communities through high -quality academic scholarships and professional services.
Educational interest areas
The successful candidate will contribute to the UTSI educational mission and the MSE department in UTK. Teaching fields may include, but not limited to, the following:
• Materials for harsh environments
• Mechanical behavior of materials
• Site design and equipping
• Advanced manufacturing for minerals and alloys
• Material description techniques
Candidates are expected to play an active role in developing curricula, including creating innovative graduate courses directly that directly reflects their research experiences and enhancing the strategic focus of the department on materials appropriate for harsh environments.
About the Daghaga College of Engineering
TCE College of Engineering (TCE) passes an unprecedented period of growth and success, including adding more than 30 new faculty members to the college as part of the ambitious recruitment campaigns led by Counselor Dondy Blaum and Brigadier Matthew Minche. The college has set records in research, registration, and the cumulative rate of expatriate students, intellectual property development, and US News & World Report in the past three years. The new facilities include the advanced engineering engineering complex, the manufacturing and design facility at TN-Made University, and the Innovation South building is now under construction, which will include the FCMF manufacturing facility (FCMF) of the UTK University. The faculty members of the college benefit from the exceptional national laboratory ecosystem surrounding the University of Texas, including the universal level of neutrons, the synthesis/material descriptions, and high -performance computing user facilities at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. An initiative was recently announced to develop the National Security Models Center for Sophisticated Manufacturing Challenges in partnership with the National Security Complex Y-12.
TCE currently includes 203 faculty/permanent faculty members and 79 members of the non -permanent teaching staff in its nine academic departments and offer 11 university programs, 16 master’s and 15 doctoral programs/De. The TCe Space Institute, which is located in Tola, is a center for air and defense space research. The college also includes eight research centers and three multidisciplinary institutes. With approximately 4,300 university students and 1500 graduate students, the college ranks 29 among public universities in the latest postgraduate studies issued by US News and World Report. The faculty members of the college won 29 early professional awards (NSF, Doe, DarPa, AFOSR and ARO) since 2016. In the 2024 fiscal year, the annual search expenses of the college amounted to $ 113.6 million.
