The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Geographical Engineering at the University of Minnesota is looking for requests to fill the position of teaching staff in the field of extensive modeling in environmental systems. This position is primarily dedicated to applicants at the level of Assistant Professor; However, the most experienced, exceptional applicants can be seen. All areas related to the modeling of systems, decision support, random methods, mathematical modeling with applications on environmental or water resources engineering, including the evaluation of life cycle and economic analysis, system improvement, arithmetic fluid dynamics in geophysical flows, artificial intelligence and machine learning.
The focus will be on the quality, creativity, and intellectual discrimination of candidates’ research and their scholarships. We are interested in scientists who have strong basic basics in science and engineering that allow them to move easily across disciplinary limits and work cooperatively to solve complex problems on the limits of their specialties.
Successful candidates are expected to maintain a strong research program that has been funded externally. Teaching responsibilities include graduate courses and current graduate studies, as well as developing new courses in the specialized fields of the candidate. A doctorate acquired at the time of appointment. Candidates who are looking for the rank of associate professor must have a strong record for success in teaching, research and service in proportion to the level of the appointment.
