The Department of East Asian Studies at the College of Languages, Literature and International Cultures at the University of Arizona calls for a qualified position for possession that begins in August 2026 in the rank of assistant professor to work as director of the Chinese language program, with a doctorate degree. (At the time of appointment) in applied linguistics, acquisition of the second language, the science of teaching in Chinese, East Asia studies, or a close field.

We are particularly interested in a person with a scientific and practical background that will bring a new dimension and experience of our Chinese program, as well as help us employ and increase the number of university studies in East Asia (Chinese).

The field of experience is open, and we are especially interested in the successful candidates in the request for grants or grants/centers supported by grants, and/or candidates with specialization in quantitative or arithmetic/total methods of learning the second language. Successful candidates will have opportunities to cooperate with relevant initiatives on the campus of Arizona University.
