The College of Arts invites requests to an assistant professor or associate professor in digital methods, with a focus on both research and teaching in the humanities. The successful applicant at the Faculty of Culture and Society, the University of Aarhus, the Department of Philosophy and History of Ideas, Jens Christian Skous Vej 7, 8000 AarHus C. The position is the full -time position (37H/W) at the date of starting on January 1, 2026 or as possible after that.

This position is one of two sites that will be in two different parts in the College of Culture and Society. One in the Ministry of History and Classical Studies, and one in the Department of Philosophy and History of Ideas. In addition, parking will be affiliated with the Human Computing Center (CHC). CHC provides specialized support for ARTS researchers who work with digital data – do not exceed their technical background.

These attitudes aim to enhance the continuous academic development of the college, in which digital methods, including obstetric intelligence tools, are increasingly integrated into specializations as a natural part of both research and education.

The main task will be the professional development of researchers and faculty, allowing them to push the integration of digital methods in their fields. Consequently, the competencies in teaching academic colleagues and contributing to educational development are necessary. • The assistant or assistant professor is also expected to publish digital development within specific specialties.
• It is expected that the assistant or assistant professor will develop work frameworks to digitize education in cooperation with the academic environment
• The assistant or assistant professor is expected to participate in developing new instructions with special interest in digital challenges
• It is expected that the assistant or assistant professor will organize annual workshops on digital opportunities in teaching all over the college

Applicants must be able to document experience in the application of digital methods within their field and possess the necessary competencies to support the educational development of teaching in digital methods, and to integrate them into academic environments and grades via arts.

Qualifications for the position of the assistant professor

• Doctorate degree or its equivalent in the history of ideas, philosophy, or related research fields.
• A documented experience with research and teaching digital methods
• Experience with educational integration of digital methods within disciplinary contexts.
• Experience with, or attention, developing digital competencies among colleagues.
• Experience with, or attention, multidisciplinary cooperation in research, including joint publishing.
• Experience with, or attention, teaching and training academic colleagues.
