A position in Arab Studies at the American University of Sharjah

The Department of Arabic Studies and Translation at the University of Sharjah, American University College In the rank of Assistant Professor to start in the fall of 2026, taking into account the approval of the budget. A doctorate degree is required in Arabic studies, Arabic literature, or allied regions. Preparing and the ability to teach Arab heritage lessons for beginners is necessary. The ability to provide training courses on the history, culture and society of the United Arab Emirates will be a distinctive advantage, as is the case in the integration of new technologies in teaching and research. Candidates must also refer to any interests, qualifications or experiments related to the design/development/program development. We strive for candidates with eagerness to teach and research in any field of specialization in the relevant specialization to join our faculty members. The citizens of the United Arab Emirates are encouraged to apply.

Successful applicants will have original or semi -original competence in Arabic and English. The language of education in AUS is the English language, however, the candidates who are able to teach courses in both Arabic and English prefer. A strong/possible scientific record is expected to happen. It is preferable to be familiar with the western models of higher education.

Applicants are required to present their CV, including a list of three rulers, a coverage message that defines their fields of experience, teaching philosophy, research interests, and how they fit with this situation. Salaries and benefits are very competitive.
