The English Language Department at Louisiana University (LSU) invites requests to obtain an assistant professor in linguistics, starting from August 2026.

Lsu is located in Baton Rouge, the leading land grant institution in Louisiana and the University of Research 1 (R1). We support research and teaching in a wide range of fields and many multidisciplinary programs.

Requirements: linguistic doctorate, or in the relevant field by the time when the situation begins; Record publishing or strong promise of the scientific achievement in the future. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach and direct research in social pumping scholars or language acquisition. In particular, we welcome applicants who bring innovative and unemployed curricula to study the language in society (i.e. innovative methodologies, digital technologies), or who can contribute to the strengths of departments in regional studies (southern United States, Mississippi, Caribbean, Gulf). Qualifications: At least MA in English as a second and/or linguistics, evidence of distinguished teaching in the English language as a second language, knowledge of OPI technology (oral efficiency interview). Additional favorite qualifications: previous experience in teaching ESL in higher education, ITA training (international teaching assistant), experience of teaching English formation at the university level.

Teaching forecast: Teaching pregnancy is 2/2 and it is mostly composed of the first university sessions (for example, the grammar of the descriptive English, the English language dialects, an introduction to linguistics, topics in linguistic studies) and graduate seminars in the field of faculty specialization. New Hire will have the opportunity to design new courses of their interest and cooperation with currently multidisciplinary programs and initiatives.

Search forecast: Competitive candidates must maintain an active profile on an equal footing with R1 expectations. The college provides support for research and development of faculty members.
