Interactive media and games development (IMGD) at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) seeks to employ an assistant teaching professor to support and develop our multidisciplinary curriculum. The successful candidate will form our offers and develop our offers in both technical and design areas for our university grades and postgraduate studies. Applicants in all IMGD fields are encouraged to apply; Specific areas of attention include, but not limited to: creative coding, decisive computing, concrete interaction and embodiment, the development of the artistic game, and the design of emerging creative technologies. IMGD is a very cooperative community of learners, scientists and creativity. We are looking for a new colleague enthusiastic to enhance our current community and build new cooperation inside and outside IMGD.

Interactive media and games development (IMGD) at the Worlester Polytechnic (WPI) is a vibrant, multidisciplinary program at the intersection of art, design, technology, play and society. We give certificates on both university levels (BS, BA) and graduates (MS, MFA, PHD). Students and faculty members cooperate regularly through our certificates programs through joint courses, project cooperation and community initiatives. IMGD is one of the oldest game development programs in the country, as it is constantly classified as a better game for games in categories such as Princetus Review Games ( #12 UndergraD, #13 Grad in 2025).

The program is looking for a new assistant professor in teaching that supports and sows the IMGD curricula and community in the fields of his experience and professional experience. We are particularly interested in applicants who can contribute to technical and design areas in our testimony. The current faculty has identified many possible areas that concern the growth in IMGD, including but not limited to: creative coding, decisive computing, concrete interaction and embodiment, the development of the technical game, and the design of emerging technologies (for example AR/VR, AI).

We are more interested in finding a colleague who completes our current strengths and can cooperate to move us in new directions. Consequently, all candidates who do not exceed specialization are given equal.

The successful candidate will teach graduate and postgraduate studies courses in the curriculum, with an expected teaching load of 5 courses annually. WPI academic evaluation for four weeks per year at the university level, which means that teaching faculty usually teach one or 2 courses at the same time. WPI faculty have renewed contracts.

In addition to teaching courses, the successful candidate for university students and graduate studies will advise their work in their project. The WPI project -based learning system provides an integrated framework to mix research, creative practice and teaching. University students complete intensive projects in the first and second year. The preparatory year project focuses on the intersection of technology and society; The Supreme Year project is implemented within the team’s specialization. IMGD graduate programs also require projects or theses recommended by faculty committees. Both advice and guidance are the important responsibilities of all IMGD faculty members.

IMGD is also participating in the service to support our creative community of students, graduates and faculty. Such work can include awareness, student development, events organizing, educational guidance, and community building activities. All faculty members have university and postgraduate studies who advise those we direct through academics and early professional development.

Candidates should carry a station in an area closely linked to IMGD (such as MFA or PHD). All candidates must provide their application evidence for their potential for successful teaching and experiences of experience with university students and graduate studies. Applicants must submit:
