Description

The Italian Studies Department at the University of California, Berkeley is hiring an assistant professor of efforts for Italian literature in the Renaissance (1400-1600), with a secondary specialization in sexual studies and/or critical race theory. In addition, we welcome applications of candidates working on a wide range of critical methods, including Mediterranean studies, environmental humanities, after colonialism, visual culture, book history, physical texts, and digital humanities. The successful candidate will teach the preliminary and special topics in Italian literature, the renaissance, university students and graduate studies, and dialogue with the broader Renaissance/modern society on the campus.

Berkeley’s assistants are expected to outperform research, teaching and service.
