The Department of Art and Art History at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill calls on an assistant professor in the field of possession in the art of studio, with a specialty in PRINTMEDIA. This is a full -time date for nine months of the school year starting from July 1, 2026.

We are looking for an artist with a strong and dynamic practice, with the support of an active record of exhibitions and publishing that reflects a widespread understanding of contemporary printing and related specialties. The successful candidate will be well aware of critical issues and contemporary theory in art and show diversity in teaching through the printing curriculum.

Candidates must have technical experience through a wide range of printing industry and understanding of conceptual and material capabilities that define the expanded Printedia field. In addition to teaching the basic printedia courses, a successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop new courses that depend on their creative exercise and its multidisciplinary interests. These may include, but not limited to, socially participating practices, book arts, drawing, drawing, or performance. There are also opportunities to cooperate with faculty members throughout the campus to design multidisciplinary courses that provide PRINTMEDIA’s access to new contexts.

The teaching load is two sessions for each semester, and all faculty members work in the studio in many graduate committees in the Master of Business Administration per year. The studio faculty may also teach MFA seminars, first year seminars and special topics courses as part of this educational pregnancy. In addition to teaching and creative research, all faculty members contribute to the joint responsibilities of the administration, including the committee’s service, academic progress, and participation in the governance of departments.
