The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Rice, which is located in the heart of Houston, Texas, calls for the applications of the position of assistant professor in the field of possession of evolutionary biology, with a favorite focus on live responses to environmental change. We welcome applicants who study behavior, physiology, functional genomics, quantitative genetics, environmental development dynamics, or genetic environment reactions. The ideal filter will bring an integrated approach, and perhaps benefit from calculations, genomic or quantity, and/or merge theoretical methods, in any system (animal, plant, microbial).

The successful candidate is expected to create a vibrant research program from abroad, study at the level of university and graduate studies, and contributes to the cooperative and multiple disciplines in the department. We especially encourage applications from scientists whose work contributes to wide topics of sustainability, global change biology, or one health.
