Applications are invited to obtain a permanent post for a professor/assistant in early music at UCD Music School.

UCD Music School seeks to appoint a lecturer / assistant professor in early music, and takes this term to cover music widely before c. 1600. We are open to all disciplines in this wide test, including all historical periods and methodological and historical curricula (including multidisciplinary methods). We also welcome requests from scientists who may have additional areas of experience. The situation will start either January or September 2026, depending on the preference of the successful candidate.

The successful candidate will lead the school’s research and teaching in early music and will provide a great contribution to the broader development of the UCD historical music discipline. They will have an excellent record in research, teaching, service/leadership, in proportion to the functional stage, and clear research plans for the coming years; These mainly intended publications may include and may also include widespread proposals for financing applications. Once the publication is reached, they will be supported to develop their research and teach them in ways of their scientific path.

UCD Music School is a vibrant teaching and research center that played a leading role in Irish musical life for more than a century. The appointment will be widely and according to the Ministry of Finance guidance
