The Department of Sociology, Egyptology and Anthropology (SEA) at the American University of Cairo (AUC) seeks to employ an assistant professor or participant in anthropology with experience in the anthropology of religion and/or environmental anthropology. This position will be subject to a four -year contract with opportunities for renewal, as the candidate can fulfill the criteria for renewing departments and promotion. Experienced candidates in the higher education system in North America are preferred.

Doctorate in cultural anthropology or social anthropology and a clear record of teaching explains the ability to teach courses in a bachelor’s degree in anthropology and MA in AUC sociology and sociology programs, including those who focus on the Middle East and North Africa, as well as courses in the field of specialized experiences without specialization. The second regional experience is useful. Candidates must also show an active research and posting record that is suitable for their arrangement, as well as the service and program experience.
