The French and Italian Department of the College of Languages, Literature and International Cultures at Arizona University invites requests for a qualified position to be a bewildering in the rank of assistant professor to work as director of the French Basic Language Program (BLP), starting in August 2026, with a doctorate degree. In French linguistics, applied linguistics, second language acquisition, or teaching the second language at hand at the time of appointment. We are particularly interested in someone who will attend new dimensions and experiences for our program, and will help us increase the number of French university majors through the development and implementation of an innovative approach that is in line with contemporary educational principles and provides attractive educational experiences for our students. The field of experience is open, but candidates must have a research agenda closely related to the duties and responsibilities of the French BLP. Interest areas include, but not limited to: French for professional purposes, learning improved technology, and teaching the second language via the Internet. Candidates must have an active research agenda, and have shown excellence in teaching, and active commitment to recruiting French majors, minors and graduate students. The original or semi -original efficiency is required in the English and French.
