A rare library and library books

This position is a date for a possession, a date from the faculty members for a period of 12 months in the rank of assistant professor at the library / assistant or associate professor in the library / assistant.

The Arkansas University libraries seek a cooperative and enthusiastic library secretary to direct the management of the growing group of rare books and the Arkansas print materials in private groups and join a dynamic education team to help expand the scope of learning that has become possible by the department to more classes, programs, researchers and students. Submit reports to the Assistant Dean for Special Groups, the Secretary of the Books Library and the rare education will work closely with the Department of Development of the Department of the Department to provide advice on assembly priorities and will develop recommendations for the new acquisition while searching for ways to benefit from the group of rare rich and multifaceted books to innovative educational opportunities. The library secretary will also work with donors to evaluate and advise potential additions to private collection printing holdings.

Rare books and Arkansiana include in private collections more than 130,000 titles. In line with the task of granting lands at the University of Arkansas, private groups continue to collect and make the printed record of Arkansas’s history and culture as much as possible, and property includes one of the largest and most complete groups on Arkansas’s history, 17^Y A century to the present, in the world. Growth fields include teaching groups from medieval manuscripts, beautiful press thinkers, artists and adornment books. The group also includes historical studies, historical and contemporary series, aperture, maps, wide aspects, and a unique group of private libraries with special strengths in Arkansas poetry, religious studies, politics, and 20^Y Century activity. Private libraries include the Politer Poetzer Gold Fletcher and Arkansas Poet CD WRIGHT; An important group dedicated to the theology Thomas Merton and libraries of conservative religious activists in Arkansas, such as Professor James Balz,; The historical library of the Commonwealth College of the Folklore School; The historical feminist group of books and series from the Vitelville Library for Women; And Library 19^Y The Century, Political and Political Robert Del Owen. Private collections are also home to a large and growing collection of cooking books in Arkansas.

The basic duty of this position is to facilitate coordination between the Department of Special Groups, acquisitions, indexing and conservation departments within the division of groups and open initiatives. The situation will also help expand teaching and learn with the department’s resources for more students. The rare books and the Instructions Career will be an active member of the instructions and communication team in private groups, and in coordination with the team on the planning of education and the development of curricula, the use of classrooms, exhibition, events and exhibitions. University libraries seek a library secretary enthusiastically to participate and scholarships with rare books that will follow and feed partnerships within libraries and with departments throughout the campus, as well as finding ways to display rare books and printed collections for private groups through guest speakers, seminars, digital human projects and other innovative partners and opportunities.

The minimum qualifications

• Master’s degree in the library or information science from an ALA or an equivalent institution
• Experience showed work in preparing the library
• Experience appears with special groups and describing rare and operational books
• Experience in providing public service through instructions/educational programs, reference, and/or communication/external participation in an academic or professional environment

Favorite qualifications

• Teaching, professional background or experience in the subject in a field of current or potential collection, including the history of the book and literature, the books of artists and the Zenin, Arkansas, and the Mississippi Valley, or the history and culture of Africa.
• Experience in digital humanities research or project development
• Experience with or ready to learn to develop assembly and/or assembly assessment
• Knowledge or ready to learn about the use of emerging techniques to support research, teaching and learning
• Knowledge shown in the best practices in the science of teaching origin
