The Department of Psychology and Linguistics at the Macosaland College of Arts and Sciences at the University of South Carolina (USC) invites the position of assistant professor in the assistant in the science of nervous professor/psychological in Colombia, the campus. This position is a joint rental by the Linguistics Program and the Ministry of Psychology, which is the Ministry of Interior for possession. This multidisciplinary position is part of the university’s mass rental in data science, artificial intelligence (AI), and cyber to support advanced research at the intersection of the brain and language.

We are looking for a neurologist or arithmetic research scientist who embodies his linguistic research, neuroscience and the generation of artificial intelligence. Excellent candidates will use modern calculations with nervous and/or behavioral methods to investigate language learning, treatment and representation in the human brain, with possible applications on brain health, aging, and models inspired by the brain to understand the natural language. The candidate should take advantage of progress in the treatment of natural language and brain modeling. The candidate must prove excellence in the research, as it becomes clear from a strong publishing record and the possibility of securing external financing, as well as excellence in teaching and guidance.

This new rental will join a vibrant multidisciplinary community with opportunities for cooperation through departments and colleges, including computer science and engineering (CEC), the College of Information and Communications (CIC), and the powerful USC nervous science network. The main research centers include the Institute of Mind and Brain, the Center for the Recovery of Permanent Loss, the Institute of Artificial Intelligence at South Carolina, the MacOSOSAND brain imaging center, which includes a 3T Prisma MRMA scanner. Faculty members can also access the growing campus of the growing health sciences and the new rural brain health center equipped with advanced nervous imaging techniques, including MRI 7T Terrax. A rich set of additional resources is available, including access to high-performance computing groups, as well as EEG, TMS, HD-Tdcs and FNIRS facilities, eye tracking, and scourge maps in scourge from stroke.

The Department of Psychology includes the concentration of cognitive and neurological sciences with experience in cognitive neuroscience, which includes strengths in language, attention, development, social awareness, and influence. Linguistics program was a significantly successful training program with faculty members from multiple departments, and therefore, it provides cooperative power through audio, sentence construction, psychology, social pumping scientists and language acquisition, which provides an ideal environment for education and research through disciplines.

The successful candidate is expected to develop an external funding program, study graduate and postgraduate study courses, and contribute to the mission of excellence at the university. PhD is required by the date of the start of August 16, 2026.
