The Linguistics Program at the Maccososland College of Arts and Sciences at the University of South Carolina (USC) invites 9 -month -old requests, for full time, the position in the mathematical linguistics and artificial intelligence in the first rank in specialization in the allocation allocated to the candidate). In data science, artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity and aims to support advanced research at the intersection of artificial intelligence and linguistic.

We are looking for applicants who will receive a doctorate in linguistics or discipline closely related to linguistics training by August 15, 2026. We especially welcome the applicants whose research agenda uses mathematical methods and their work includes large language models (LLMS). Successful candidates may also specialize in the treatment of natural language (NLP) and/or automated learning or may achieve in other aspects of AI and language science.
The successful candidate must have an active research program and show the possibility of securing external financing in addition to excellence in teaching and guidance. The candidate must be a dynamic teacher ready to teach both university studies courses and graduate studies that serve the field of specialization and linguistics in general, with a model teaching load of two sessions in the semester. They are also expected to direct graduate students in linguistics and participate in service for the broader USC community.
The linguistics program provides cooperative power through audio, sentence building, psychology, psychologists and language acquisition, in addition to a strong training program for graduate studies, which provides an ideal environment for guidance and research through disciplines. The Linguistics Program is highly committed to the instructions and directives of graduate studies at university and postgraduate studies, as it provides a linguistic minor for university students, MA and Ph.D. Linguistic degrees.
