In 2006, Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool (XJTLU) was established by Liverpool University and Xi’an Jiaotong University, the top ten universities in China. Xjtlu offers a unique international educational experience, combining excellent research practice with experiences from both institutions and gives students the skills and knowledge they need to secure jobs in a global market. Xjtlu now has more than 25,000 students registered in both Suzhou and Liverpool in the United Kingdom, with plans to grow to about 28,000 students by 2025. Other new initiatives include new business partnerships with Xi’an Jiaotong University, the continuous development of the new four academies, and the exploration of other potential sites to develop a SE model.

Focusing on learning, teaching and innovative research, Xjtlu depends on strengths in its parent universities and plays a pivotal role in facilitating access to China to the United Kingdom and other institutional partners. At the same time, Xjtlu explores future education by mixing educational theory and best practices and culture from the West and East.

About the Department of Financial and Equatorial Mathematics

The Ministry of Financial and Equatorial Mathematics (FAM) is devoted to education and research for university students and graduate studies in the financial and mandatory fields.

The Department of Financial and Criteria (FAM) is a friendly and academic center for researchers, teachers and students in financial mathematics, actuarial sciences and statistics. Our department is a firm educational center for financial mathematics and actuarial sciences at the levels of university stage and graduate studies. The department diversified research areas with a focus on financial mathematics, actuarial sciences, statistics and possibility. The department also provides a doctorate education in these fields of research.

Responsibilities

• Conduct high -quality research as shown in posts in leading magazines.
• Follow -up to the activity of financing external research.
• Supervising PhD students, master’s and university students projects.
• Teaching university students and graduate studies in English.
• Contribute to the work of the department and the school.

A successful candidate is expected to provide research and teaching in actuarial science, which includes actuarial mathematics, risk management, random modeling, statistics and probability, and data science (especially in insurance data analyzes) or similar fields, depending on the advanced needs of the department. Successful candidates are also expected to oversee university students and graduate studies in research and contribution to the university in terms of service and management. The burden of teaching and management is similar to other universities led by research. Successful candidates are also expected to apply for internal and external research financing opportunities.

Employment is organized at the University of Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool under Chinese labor laws, and must comply with the district government regulations. These regulations provide for a qualification for legal work regarding obtaining work permits and visas. Please advise candidates over 65 years old who may not be eligible to obtain a work visa in China in public relations.

Research financing support

The university provides every new member of the teaching staff for a research development fund to encourage them to start research projects, and a research fund is provided in research to support their continuous research activities.

The university will also support all faculty members to apply for national and local programs and the level of the city. These programs aim to support excellent scientists, Chinese and non -Chinese citizens, to work and conduct research in China. Some programs are listed in the table below.
