Job purpose:

The Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Wyoming University Energy School calls for the acquisition of nuclear engineering path, widely defined. Individuals who have research interests are encouraged in any related areas, including reactor/nuclear physics, advanced energy or hydraulic energy systems of the reactor, advanced mathematical methods, or material science related to nuclear applications. This position will be held at the level of an assistant professor and the candidates must obtain a doctorate. Or the equivalent of the post -PhD experience is very desirable. It is expected that the successful candidate in teaching will excel at the level of university and graduate studies, and to establish a recognized research program at the national level with great external financing support, and contribute to the ruling at the level of departments and university.

Basic duties and responsibilities:

Development and supervision of an external research program that has a great link to nuclear engineering. Teaching courses at university and graduate studies.

Complementary functions:

Implementing the necessary service to their Ministry of Interior.

Competencies:

The ability to develop courses and teach effectively at university levels and graduate studies.

The ability to design and secure financing for students and direct them to implement research projects related to nuclear engineering.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Doctorate in relevant discipline (for example, material science, nuclear engineering, mechanical engineering).

Required qualifications:

  • Post -PhD research experience
  • A busy record of the achievements of the research in their field supported by the publications, which were reviewed by peers and conference procedures.

  • Detailed CV
  • Research statement (<5 pages)-Discuss your plans to create an independent and external research program in science or nuclear engineering.
  • Teaching statement (<2 pages) - class of teaching philosophy and interests.
  • Three recommendations.

This position will remain open until it is filled. Full requests that were received by 10/17/2025 will receive full study.
