The Department of Linguistics and Cognitive Sciences at Bomona College calls for assistant professor requests to start the fall of 2026. We are looking for candidates with experience in sound science, and we welcome the candidates with additional experience in other sub -fields of linguistics. The candidates will provide evidence of comprehensive excellence in teaching, a production record for research, and the ability to involve university students in research. Candidates are already encouraged in the rank of assistant professor to apply. We are particularly looking for candidates who have a clear commitment to comprehensive excellence in teaching/guiding university students who are ready to provide research projects to university students. The teaching load is two sessions for each semester, and the professors are expected to maintain an active research program.

The candidates must have a doctorate degree by the beginning of the position, which is July 1, 2026.
