🌟 Improving a hip joint planning review in UCL

Description of the PhD project
background
The hip joint review is a complex procedure required when the initial alternatives fail due to relieving, corrosion, infection or fracture. Success is often challenged by changing anatomy and bone loss, making planning and difficulty making decisions difficult. While massive tomography is necessary to assess bone morphology, implantation, and bone dissolution surrounding cultivation, the image quality is repeatedly degraded through metal manufactures, which limits the accuracy of diagnosis and the settlement of surgical results.
Emerging tools, such as the mineral limbs reduction (MAR), artificial intelligence -based retail, 3D anatomical modeling, more clear and more reliable promise. These developments have been effectively combined in the clinical workflow, and it has the ability to produce more clear and reliable images of skeletons and implants, thus enhancing the accuracy of planning before surgery and enabling the most accurate and special surgical strategies.

The main goal of this research is to develop advanced advanced image processing advanced image imaging designed to improve pre -surgery in the hip joint joint review.
The main strength of this doctorate is strong clinical integration. The project will be implemented in close cooperation with doctors at the National Royal Hospital of Orthopedics, which ensures that the research is directly informed of clinical challenges and patient needs. This clinical entry will direct the development of image processing tools, health verification support in surgical contexts in the real world, and increase the translation effect. The student will also benefit from engineering experience in Synopsys/ansys, and from high -influential research in UCL.

- Applicants must have a first -class equation in the UK in mechanical engineering, software engineering or relevant discipline
- A passion for simulation/sporting modeling, experimental evaluation and data analysis.
- Excellent organizational skills, personal and communications, as well as the interest in research and multidisciplinary creativity is necessary.
- The experience in computer programming and design will be necessary.
- Experience in one or more of the following:
- Photo analysis
- Matlab and Python programming
- Automated learning
- Fluted and clear in the spoken English as well as the good written English according to the UCL requirements.
