The Department of Biochemistry and cell biology at Stone Brock University invites requests to obtain a path of possession at the level of assistant professor. Candidates who seek to understand membranes are encouraged at the molecular or cellular level using biochemical, physical or structural methods.
The Department of Biochemistry and cell biology in each of the faculty members of the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Medicine is an active and cooperative society of scientists with wide research interests allocated to both scientific discovery and promoting university education at the university stage, graduate and graduate studies. Besides the department, there are opportunities to cooperate with other departments and research programs including the Stony Brook Center for Structural Biology, the Stony Brook Institute for Chemical Biology and Discovery of Drugs, the Laufer Center for Physical and Quantity, the Stony Brook Center for Infectious Diseases, as well as the laboratory of the Gaeli biological structure in the nearby National Brockhavin. In addition, the university maintains basic facilities equipped with professional support for research including electronic microscope by cooling, proteins, and the next generation sequence and a united focus.
Qualifications
Required qualifications:
Candidates must have a doctorate and/or MD (or foreign equivalent) in biochemistry, biomedics, structural biology, or a close field, as well as at least two years of experience after the doctorate. Candidates must have shown excellence in innovative research and have a strong commitment to teaching at university levels and graduate studies.
Favorite qualifications:
The research program that seeks to understand membranes at the molecular or cellular level using biochemical, biological or structural methods.
