Deputy Commissioner G. Lakshmikanth Reddy on Monday said a State-level mega job fair will be held in Mysuru on September 6, and urged unemployed youth to make the best use of the opportunity and secure jobs.
Presiding over a preparatory meeting here, Mr. Reddy said that the registration process for unemployed candidates must be done immediately. A registration drive will be conducted, and a link will be provided for online enrolment. More than 120 companies are expected to participate, he added.
The Deputy Commissioner said the job fair is not limited to graduates alone, as candidates with SSLC and PUC qualifications are also eligible to participate. Those who are registered under the Yuva Nidhi scheme should be encouraged to enroll and take part in the job fair, he said.
Committees have been formed to ensure successful conduct of the fair, Mr. Reddy added.
Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer S. Yukesh Kumar said, “Over 12,000 unemployed youth in the district have already registered under the Yuva Nidhi scheme, and instructed officials to ensure all of them register for the fair and participate. The Employment Exchange Department has to take responsibility for their participation.”
He directed the Joint Director of Industries to ensure private companies in the district are enrolled for the event.
Mysuru City Corporation Commissioner Shaikh Tanveer Asif, Additional Deputy Commissioner P. Shivaraju, and several officials from different departments were present at the meeting.
