NALGONDA: Dr Bipin P. Varghese, deputy director of the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Bhongir on Monday cautioned job aspirants not fall prey to cyberfraudsters misusing the name of the institution. He said cybercriminals were circulating tinyurl links on social media platforms in the name of AIIMS Bibinagar to cheat people with fake job offers.
The AIIMS found that a fake website to offer jobs. Fraudsters were also issuing fake notifications and carrying out mobile transactions. Another website was circulated by misusing the AIIMS Bibinagar logo. The fraudsters even created a fake email ID of the AIIMS Bibibagar director and linked it to a website.
Dr Varghese clarified that AIIMS Bibinagar has not authorised any individual or agency for appointments, whether regular or contractual. All regular, deputation, consultancy, and contractual vacancies are advertised only in Employment News, leading newspapers, and on the institute’s official website: https://aiimsbibinagar.edu.in/
He appealed to the public and aspirants not to trust any source, agency, or individual other than the official AIIMS Bibinagar website. A complaint has also been lodged with the Bibinagar police station.
Earlier in the day, BRS activists protested outside its campus and alleged that some individuals were promising jobs at the institute by taking money from applicants and that the locals were not getting jobs.
Dr Varghese explained to them the process of hiring contractual staff. Presenting list of documents mentioning the names and addresses of staff members recently recruited, the deputy director said that all of them are either locals or stay within a 30-km radius of the institute.
He said that the institute had also released a notification earlier mentioning that citizens must be aware of fraudulent and malpracticing individuals who falsely promise jobs at the institute.
Varghese also clarified that all the staff members were locals, with a majority of them being from Bibinagar itself. “Of 157 housekeeping staff, 97 are from Bibinagar and of 136 security members, around 76 belong to Bibinagar. This shows that the institute has been quite specific in this regard,” he said.
All these are contract jobs and staff members are hired through three contractors, each handling housekeeping, security and other manpower.
