Role summary
The partner of industry contracts will lead negotiating and cost research contracts with industry partners, ensuring compatibility with the university’s policy and best practices in the sector. The post -cooperative environment holder will work, the postal holder will advise experts on contractual risks, conducting due care checks, and contribute to organizational compliance activities.
This is a pivotal role for the contracting specialist who flourishes in complexity, innovation and cooperation. It requires a deep understanding of the participation of the university industry, the strong negotiating skills, and the ability to manage complex and sensitive contractual issues. The postal holder will be a major connection to the internal and external stakeholders and will play an active role in developing resources and training to enhance contract management through the broader research support community.
Main duties
- Commission for negotiation and drafting a set of research contracts funded by industry, ensuring compatibility with institutional policy and relevant legislation.
- Providing expert guidance on the cost and pricing of industry contracts, and ensuring the application of full economic cost policies and strategic prices appropriately.
- Procedure and/or review due care and control of the export of industry partners, and communicate with senior academics and external stakeholders to ensure effective risk mitigation.
- Work closely with the Business and Research Participation team (BERI) to provide a smooth commercial interface with industry partners.
- Cooperation with research support managers and other colleagues within the college centers to ensure the development of contracts is compatible with the broader research activity and operational procedures.
- Maintaining modern knowledge of organizational frameworks (such as export monitoring, national security and investment law, first and support for the implementation of related compliance activities.
- Assistant Director (Contract Policy and Compliance) support in handing over workshops, training materials and written directives for contracting research to build capacity via RSSD.
- Providing reliable advice to academic workers and the higher leadership in complex contractual issues and associated risks.
- Contributing to work through the team, sharing resources, and reviewing the peer of the contract activity through the centers to ensure fixed standards and avoiding work.
Required knowledge, skills, qualifications and experience
Education and experience
- He received his education to the level of certificate or with the equivalent professional experience gained in a dense or organizational environment.
- Great experience in formulating contracts related to research, review and negotiation, preferably in the field of higher education, commercial research or technology transfer.
- Experience in working with academic researchers and external partners (especially the industry) has been proven to support cooperative research.
Specialized knowledge
- Knowing a strong process of contracts law, intellectual property rights, and its conditions related to the research agreements facing the industry.
- Experience can be clarified in the application of the principles of full economic cost (FEC) and pricing forms in research or commercial environment.
