RISE UP: The Legal Defense Network for Federal Workers (RISE UP or Network), a work organization with a tax exemption 501 (C) (5), was launched earlier this year to support federal workers and such as federal civil service. Our initial mission is to match the federal workers who have been terminated or who have concerns about the upcoming negative employment procedures with trained volunteer lawyers who provide an hour -up counselor on the rights and legal options of individual workers. We seek full time CEO For the current ED backward, which complements its mission to launch the organization.

This is a full -time position in the beginning for one year. The situation can be implemented remotely and it is not possible that it will require a large travel.

Basic responsibilities:
In this context, Rise Up seeks to employ an executive director who can lead the organization until 2026 and beyond in the following ways:

Strategic leadership, program control and legal service

• Developing the growth and expansion strategy in 2026 and beyond will increase in the center of efforts to rebuild federal civil service and oppose additional efforts to destroy civil service in alliance with allies.
• Providing strategic guidelines and support to employees to ensure that legal clinics have sufficient resources and continue to provide services to federal workers.
• Supervising web seminars and virtual city halls for both volunteers and workers to build a base for knowledge that allows the selection of a meaningful agency.

Participation volunteers and network growth

• By working with the Rise Up volunteer organizer, expand and manage the list of active volunteer lawyers ready to provide free assistance to current and former federal workers.
• Keep close relationships with Rise Up and develop other networks.

Collect donations, financial and organizational supervision

• Lead Rise donations efforts with institutions and individuals, and work closely with experts who provide the organization with indispensable advice and directions.
• Supervising a monthly operating budget worth $ 50,000
• Take a mission employment decisions within the budget framework.

Governance and participation of the Board of Directors

• Maintaining open communication with the Board of Directors and the Consultative Board, involve them to obtain strategic guidance and support appropriate decisions

The required skills and competencies:

• The ability to create medium and long -term goals showed a organization, strategies and organizational goals that facilitate success in achieving these goals.
• Experience in overseeing or implementing digital social media strategy or campaign and/or social media campaign.
• A busy record for the building teams that work together towards common goals

Minimum qualifications:

• Gradually responsible experience in work movements and/or social justice, and reached its peak in an important organizational or organizational leadership.
• The experience of working in alliance with partner organizations and enhancing productive labor relations.
• Experience in designing and implementing efforts to collect successful and important donations.
• Understanding how the structural issues of the class, race and sex affect the success of work and social justice organizations, and experience in dealing with these issues.
