Job title: Post -newspaper Pittsburgh Sports Designer

It is currently seeking Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the largest newspaper in West Pennsylvania, to obtain applicants for a major designer on our award-winning sports office. We are looking for a multi -use designer/editor to raise our coverage on multiple platforms. The subsequent newspaper provides unparalleled reports and comments on Pittsburgh Storied Pro and colleges, as well as covering the wide secondary schools.

If you have a winning position and you are very excited, post-Gazette has an exciting opening of the main player in one of the most sports cities in America. Post-Gazette has been permanently classified among the best sports reports in the country by Associated Press Sports (2024 Best Printing). Our offices are located on a comfortable location between the Acrisure and PNC Park stadium. Our coverage base includes three university teams (Pitt, Penn State and West Virginia) at the college’s Power Five conferences. We are looking for a designer to lead us to the next exciting stage of our transformation.

The applicant must have design skills to create section fronts and elegant, active and interesting interior pages. The ability to work effectively on the final dates is a key. The designer must be able to identify and defend excellent photography, create ideas for the forms of alternative story and cooperate with writers and editors in the process of planning and presentation.

This position will play a major role in planning and implementing the distinguished products of the award -winning sports office, such as the on -way release of the weekly Sunday and special departments.

The applicant is a person with proven visual skills that can bring life to news pages and digital formats. The ability to edit copies and write vibrant newspapers is preferred for both printed and digital platforms.

Education and experience

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the design of the press or graphics, but it should not be

• 2 to 5 years of page design experience (negotiable on review)

• Strong oral and written communication skills as well as strong personal skills

• Analytical planning skills, strong strategy and attention to details

• Exceptional work ethics, time management, and organization skills
