We are seeking a full -time post -PhD research assistant to join The circular economy and the sustainability laboratory In the Department of Engineering Sciences (Central Oxford). This post is funded by Innovate UK, which is a fixed contract for 24 months from November 1, 2025 with the possibility of extension.

The researcher will join an union of industry and academic partners as part of an ambitious project to increase the sustainability of medical devices and the circular economy, focusing on the re -manufacturing of injections.

You will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Conducting a detailed analysis of stakeholders for groups such as patients, pharmacists and pharmaceutical companies that participate in the return and reuse of injections.
  • Explore drivers and basic barriers that affect the behavior and attitudes of interest to return, reuse and re -manufacture injection devices.
  • Common design solutions to reuse, reuse and re -manufacture injection devices that included designing the principles of behavior change and assessing the capabilities of stakeholders ’adoption of these solutions.
  • Developing design recommendations, politics and organizational recommendations to adopt these effective solutions.

The relevant doctorate (for example is in design, business, engineering or relevant discipline) and sufficient knowledge of discipline to work in the existing research project (including the principles of the circular economy/circular economy design, behavior change design, joint design/participatory design, and user research). You should be excited to learn and work independently and as part of a larger team that moves to the circular economy, and you have curiosity and motivation to address the problems of the real world through a strict academic and ambition.
