Job title:

Perkins Coie LLP seeks an experienced lawyer to work as a director of internal discovery in our professional standards section. This leadership role is responsible for managing the company’s internal discovery operations, including legal transactions, groups, documents review and production, as well as developing effective protocols to maintain information. The Director of Internal Discovery will also support special projects for the Office of the General Adviser and the High Command and will present a report to the lawyer for compliance with professional claims and standards.

Basic functions

These basic functions are the basic duties that their occupants should be able to perform unbearable or with some reasonable residence.

• Planning, supervision and management of internal discovery projects to ensure quality, accuracy and efficiency.
• Cooperation with the Office of the General Adviser and the external advisor in the discovery matters.
• Support efforts to maintain the company and internal discovery with strategic guidance.
• Exercising independent judgment on discovery decisions, documents production, and information management.
• Developing and implementing best practices to report discovery activities and summons responses.
Refining the discovery plans and operations, including review of documents, concession records and team coordination.
• Research conducting, draft legal documents, correspondence, and reports preparation.
• Supervising the legal reservation database, ensuring the accuracy of data and leading updates and quality control.
• Teacher of beginners team members and providing training in legal reservation and compliance practices.
• Maintaining a regular and reliable presence according to the company’s expectations.

Specific skills required
• Advanced knowledge of the discovery of litigation, legal reservation protocols, and database management.
• Great experience in reviewing documents and electronic discovery tools (for example, relativity, disco).
• Efficiency in MS Office, Adobe, Outlook, and is able to learn new technologies quickly.
• Experience in managing documents and information storage systems.
• The ability to lead complex projects independently and lead has proven to lead to mysterious situations.
• Book and excellent communication skills; Creating employees at all levels of the company.
• Strategic or analytical capabilities and solve strong problems.
• Self -motivation, with a proper judgment and initiative in a fast -paced environment.
• Very organized, directed towards detail, capable of managing multiple priorities.
• Cooperative team player with the ability to build relationships through the company.
• The ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information showed.

Favorite specific skills
• Advanced knowledge of records and principles of information management in preparing the law office.
• Knowledge of moral guidelines governing legal reservation and compliance practices.
• The ability to define procedural deficiencies and implement effective decisions.

Education, licenses, certificates and experience
• requires JD and 8-10 years of applicable legal experience.
• Admission tape in one or more of the applicable judicial states. Candidates must keep acceptance in the state where the candidate’s office is located, and if work is remotely, if the candidate is staying.
• At least 7 years of experience in some or all the following areas: electronic discovery, record management, compliance, and legal pending management.
• Experience with electronic discovery or ethics department in a large law firm (100+).

The scope of compensation in Los Angeles: 178,720 dollars to $ 28,770 annually
Saint Diego compensation scope: 176,450 dollars to $ 282,150 annually
New York compensation scope: 178,070 dollars to 284,740 dollars annually
Washington State compensation: 161,880 dollars to $ 258,850 annually
Washington, DC, compensation scope: 174,830 dollars to 279,560 dollars annually
