This position represents the technical elements for designing and implementing the experience within the RLMG project teams, and contributes to the initial models, research and development, and participates in testing, installation and support. This position is reports to the director of creative technology.
The successful candidate for the position of creative technician has a background in experiences and interactive spaces, and practical experience with a wide range of AV technologies, which is enthusiastic about new and innovative media expertise.
This is a full -time position, a hybrid requires two days in Watertown, MA Office per week, and sometimes project travel.
We offer a starting salary range between 60,000- 75,000 dollars, depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Technical advice and support in current projects (40 %)
- Understanding and identifying the requirements of devices and software for the RLMG Media exhibition. Work as a major person within production teams to ensure feasibility and technical efficiency for each project.
- Develop the detailed technical approach and devices specifications for RLMG projects.
- Coordination with external partners (clients, manufacturing, AV integration, and 3D design) in the main project features.
Experience and interaction design (20 %)
- Cooperation with designers, developers and others to translate the experience and learn into new interactive exhibitions that can be used.
- Participate in design to visualize technical and creative solutions to meet the needs of the customer within the project restrictions.
- Support the project teams with research on potential technology solutions, shape factors, and reaction types.
Initial models, research and development (20 %)
- Create preliminary programs for programs to answer a specific user interface or agree devices or technological questions during the project design stages and production.
- Design and build physical models for the scale test, shape factor and customized interfaces.
- Research and evaluate innovative technologies that may be applicable to future work.
- Defending new technologies, tools or skills that will be integrated into RLMG projects.
- Documenting the results of the initial models and exchanging results for internal professional development and external marketing.
Test and installation (10 %)
- User test format, quality guarantee test, and AV preparation in the office on specific projects.
- Consult the remote installation process and on the site for specific media projects.
- Working as a link to external partners and the AV integration to ensure the achievement of the technical goals and requirements of the project.
- Travel to oversee integration and complete the specified media installation.
- Forms with Manager to install and support to prepare media guides to document software, composition and other details for the customer and internal reference.
Support of complete projects (10 %)
- Coordination with the director of installation and support to respond to requests for technical support to complete facilities.

Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in designing, producing or supporting interactive media facilities
- Experience with a wide range of AV technologies and installations
- The experience of working with Arduino or other preliminary models and relevant sensors
- Programming skills in one or more environment (unit, javascript, C, Python, Touchdesigner, digital signs)
- Experience with initial models and user test
- A passion for interactive media for public spaces (museums, tourist attractions of nature, living places and events, theater, media arts, etc.)
- Strong organizational skills to reconcile multiple tasks
- The ability to solve technical problems creatively and cooperatively with developers, designers and other project partners
- Clear communication with the partners of the artistic and non -technical project
- Multi -talented and multi -use
This is a flexible role with the responsibilities designed for the individual. Individuals may have a mixture of the following qualifications:
- Efficiency for building and programming material models
- Experience with 3D and familiar design tools with building documents, technical graphics, etc.
- Efficiency with Adobe design suite tools
