The Ministry of International Development, Kings London College, is a young, innovative and contemporary department, focusing on unequal development and global capitalism within the regional contexts of Latin America, East Asia, South Asia, South Asia, the Middle East and Africa. We explore the structural transformation in countries and how this leads to unequal development, with attention to operations and policies. Our universal structural understanding of the local level operations allows for a multi -range approach that challenges and expands disciplinary limits. The mission of the administration is to explore the sources of success as well as understand the main development challenges facing these countries. We also have a strong focus on social and economic justice and we understand how change occurs to the better, both now and the future. A successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team currently working in a wide range of fields, including political economy, inequality, poverty, sex rights, climate change, natural resources, international trade, immigration and social. About the role

We are looking for a candidate with an excellent record of teaching and management, with the support of a distinguished early professional profile for publications. They will have wide knowledge of international development and some regional experience. They should be able to teach the economic analysis of the first university unit of emerging economies, the third year unit that launches the economy, the quantitative component of the course of graduate studies via the Internet, and the supervision of university students and graduate studies. Our successful candidate will be skilled in a methodology in their discipline and show evidence of high -quality research and teaching in international development.

The main responsibilities include:

  • To take over a role in planning, organizing and delivering teaching activities (both on campus or online) within the department according to the applicable practice.
  • To oversee university research and postgraduate studies and provide advice from personal tutees.
  • To conduct and publish high -quality research in line with the research strategy in the department, and contribute to influencing, exchanging knowledge and research training after a doctorate.
  • For full participation in design, evaluation and exam processes regarding the teaching of international development in the International Development Department.
  • To engage in professional development as necessary to update skills, and support excellence in teaching.
  • To accept academic responsibility within the department, including administrative administrative responsibilities when necessary.

This post will be responsible for the head of the International Development Department. This is a full -time role, and a fixed contract will be presented for a period of 10 months, starting from January 1, 2026.

The above list of responsibilities may not be comprehensive, and the postal holder will be asked to perform such tasks and responsibilities as expected reasonably in the scope and classification of the post.

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to get the following skills and experience:

Basic standards

  • Doctorate qualified in development studies, international development, development economics, or similar specializations.
  • Evidence through the ability to produce work in their field specialized in an international standard.
  • The ability that can be clarified on the design and provision of attractive online teaching is faced with a face that deals with social, political and economic development, critical and total curricula of the economy, and quantitative methods.

Desired criteria

  • A clear commitment and/or work experience and teaching in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Personal skills to develop and maintain good business relationships.
