We have an exciting research opportunity for a researcher to join our team at the Faculty of Molecular Biological Sciences.
This post, which is funded by the Ukrainian Medical Research Council (MRC) for 28 months, is an investigation into the basic cellular and molecular mechanisms that control the storage of fatty acids in the context of obesity -related metabolism disorders.
This project depends on our initial results that are located in the receptors of free fatty acids 2 and 4 (FFA2/4), and the members of the G-Protein (GPCR) family (GPCR), and they work inside the cells for the sensation of amputated fatty acids and prevent fat decomposition. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and in cooperation with Professor David Calibero, Birmingham University, Professor David Hudson, Oxford University, will use the latest cellular signals, pharmacy and advanced imaging techniques with an innovative cell modification.
This is an opportunity for a very excited research world to conduct basic research with the possibility of previous clinical translation. The candidate will be responsible for the drug description, the laboratory, and in the live body of new anti -FFA2 and FFA4 to fully understand the basic basis for storage and release of fatty acids as well as in various cases of diseases. Resident at the University of Glasgow will be at the modern laboratories at the newly -built ARC Research Center (ARC) in the heart of the campus.
The successful candidate is also expected to contribute to the formulation and presentation of research publications and research proposals, in addition to helping to manage and direct this complex and difficult project, as well as opportunities.
Unofficial inquiries must be directed to Professor Gray Milligan grame.milligan@glasow.ac.uk
This position is full -time and has a period of up to 28 months from the start date.
