✨ Researcher/Senior Research Assistant/Research Fellow in Intensive Atoms University

We are looking for a researcher to develop an intensive atomic watch. They will join a new and ambitious effort, in cooperation between the University of Lancaster, Teleplan Forsberg Ltd, Locatorx, Inc. , Funded by the innovation of the United Kingdom, for new applications in the echo of the clock technology.
The project takes advantage of the rotation in the internal nitrogen molecules of nitrogen, which possesses rotation situations that have long -holding times and thus a well -defined transitional frequency even at room temperature. We have discovered a clock transmission in this article, which means that the frequency (unlike most rotating resonance transitions) is not sensitive to the fluctuations of the magnetic field. This is the main discovery that supports this technology, and we have used it to create a table watch. The aim of this project is to enhance the technological readiness of the device from TRL4 to TRL5, and for the mini -physics package. To do this, we will merge new techniques to install and track the frequency of transition even in light of environmental disorders such as magnetic field fluctuations and temperature. We seek experimental physicists who have rotating resonance knowledge and electronic measurements who have motives to use basic material principles to create a new technology.
Microscopic time conservation is necessary for navigation, communications and radar. The atomic watch that is small, low energy, and cheap will get many important applications in these areas. However, the watches on the basis of atomic fumes contain optical and empty elements that are difficult to reduce. This is an exciting opportunity to develop a new category from the watch by relying on rapid scientific progress and strong technology withdrawn from a committed industrial collaborator. Depending on the filter, the appointment may be formed with the level of the research colleague, that is, above the usual class for researchers after the doctorate. This reflects the commitment of our industrial partners in this project and its importance. A part -time date may be possible for a suitable candidate.
You will join us in an unspecified contract. However, the role remains dependent on external financing, which lasts at this time until around November 2026 (depending on the date of start and the degree of appointment).
