The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) seeks to employ an accountant for the program that provides financial administrative support through programs, financing and regions, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance and effective financial control with support for the improvements of the process, implementing audit recommendations, and enhancing business partnership to enhance financial knowledge and decision -making.

The International Livestock Institute (ILRI) works to improve food and nutritional security and reduce poverty in developing countries through research for effective, safe and sustainable use of livestock. It is the only one among the 15 CGIAR Research Centers for Animal Agriculture Research for the developing world. Main responsibilities:

Financial reports and compliance

  • Prepare the monthly, separate and detailed monthly financial reports
  • Track the time tables of donor financial reports and ensure the submission of compatible financial reports in a timely
  • Preparing and reviewing donor financial statements and reports of partners to agree to it, and ensuring commitment to the regulations of donors and ILRI policies
  • Make sure the project is closed, follow the legal procedures to ensure timing, completeness and accuracy
  • Maintaining appropriate and modern financial records, both electronic and intense copies

Auditing and Risk Administration

  • Select the projects prescribed for at least six (6) months before the planning is coordinated with the relevant supervisor
  • Facilitate internal and external audits by taking advantage of all the required documents, responding to the informatives immediate
  • Supporting the implementation and tracking of the audit recommendations

Budget and financial analysis

  • Support the development of the proposal budgets in cooperation with the stakeholders concerned, ensuring compatibility with work plans, delivery of activities, and cost framework
  • Prepare the project’s approved project budget
  • Budget monitor against actual reports (BVA) regularly, analysis of differences, and suggest budget adjustments when necessary
  • Providing guidelines for a regional program/team
  • Enhancing financial literacy between software/regional employees, including budget interpretation training, compliance, and the use of financial information panels to make enlightened decisions

The accounts due and the cemetery

  • AP/A Monthical Reconciliation Performance, Approval of Preparation, and Ensuring Commitment to Financial Policies ILRI
  • Raise bills, follow -up in a timely manner, and confirm the receipt from the donors
  • Ensure that partner payment payments are guaranteed and partner expenditures enter into the financial system with the download of all supportive documents

Partner Financial Management

  • Ensuring receipt and review of the financial reports of partners in a timely manner, including taking samples of supportive documents
  • Follow with the partners to address the financial reports gaps and ensure the exchange of funds in time
  • Make assessments of partner risks and support capacity building initiatives to enhance financial controls and ensure compliance with donor and institutional requirements

Operating and administrative support

  • Refer to travel travel applications and expenses reports to comply with ILRI policies, ensure full supportive documents and accurate registration of developments and expenses in the financial system
  • Checking the validity of the consulting contracts and related payments, ensuring that all entries are captured and reconciled in the financial system
  • Training and directing the alternative employees for continuity and providing support through the team when necessary
  • Support process improvements by identifying gaps and recommending solutions and contributing to system improvements that enhance operational efficiency and controls
  • Performing any other related duties as needed.

Academic and professional qualifications:

education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, financing, or relevant field
  • Related professional qualifications, such as ACCA or CPA, will be considered an additional advantage.

expertise:

  • The five relevant professional experience after a Bachelor’s degree
  • At least three years of direct experience in a financing environment, with demonstration skills in reconciliation, reports and compliance
  • Previous work experience in an international non -profit organization organization or research

skills:

  • Efficiency installed in computerized accounting systems, institutional resource planning platforms (for example, UNIT4/AGRESSO) as well
  • The ability to analyze, interpret and reconcile accounts, ensure the accuracy of financial statements and management reports
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight -time dates
  • Effective communication and personal skills to work with various teams and external partners
  • A high level of integrity, discretionary power and commitment to confidentiality in dealing with financial statements

The minimum basic salary: Birr 42,084 per month
